The year 2014 is an important anniversary for our Carmelite Province of Saint
Elias. One hundred twenty-five years ago, in 1889, four Irish priests arrived in
New York and established our community in the United States.
Since then, we have grown into a far-reaching faith community that serves the
needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ, from the National Shrine of Our Lady
of Mount Carmel in New York, to our missions in Vietnam and Trinidad.
Please explore this site to learn about Carmelite history and spirituality, join in our
Masses and prayers, support Carmelite ministries, and request Enrollment Cards
and spiritual gift items.
Thank you and God bless!
Father Michael Driscoll, O.Carm.
